Preview for Sunday, February 27th with Discussion Questions

Often in life, things do not work out the way we would want, or the way we think they should. At times we do not even see it coming. The painful moments in life hit and leave us feeling desperate and crying for help. This week we will be looking at the NOOMA video RAIN that examines the reality of these situations in our lives. Essentially in life, it’s not a matter of ‘if’ it will rain, but ‘when’ it rains. Of course, when it rains, we may feel like, how can God let this happen? Where are you God? But maybe through these painful situations, God is closer than we think and He is there to remind us how much He loves us.

NOOMA – Rain

Discussion Questions:

1. Have you ever had a moment in your life where you wish you could just freeze it? What would that moment be?

2. But as wonderful as those moments can be, the rain will come. Simply put, we all go through hard times. Are you struggling right now? Do you think God intentionally puts us through trials? Is there an easier way for us to learn?

3. Have you ever felt like God failed to come through for you?

4. What about the junk in our lives – the fears, failures, insecurities, etc. Have they ever stopped you from crying out to God?

5. Do you have anyone in your life who you would do anything for? Do you think that is how God feels about you?

For Personal Reflection During Your Week:

- Read and reflect on Matthew 7:24-27 – Think about the impact of Jesus’ words in your own life. How does that impact you today, tomorrow, and for years to come?

- Read the following passages from the book of Psalms – Ps. 34:17, 55:17, 72:12, 84:2, 88:1. In the midst of life’s struggles, notice to whom these people call on.
